The project

AIRE Boutique Hotel is designed based on bioclimatic architecture, taking advantage of the natural elements of the environment in terms of energy savings, thermal comfort and health, reducing environmental impact and offering sustainable spaces in harmony with nature.
We believe in the importance of living comfortably and with respect for the environment, for this reason the little piece of jungle where AIRE Boutique Hotel is located preserves all the original trees, without having cut any, accommodating the design to them in a strategic way.

The lush jungle trees collaborate in the thermal regulation of the buildings, providing good shade and maintaining a cool and pleasant environment. Added to this is the choice of inclined hipped roofs that guarantee the solar protection of each building, and which, being white, reflect light, thus reducing heat transmission. In addition, good thermal and acoustic insulation has been used under each cover, hidden above a beautiful wooden ceiling that also acts as an insulator.
In a tropical climate like that of the Southern Caribbean of Costa Rica, the humidity percentage ranges around 90%, so good ventilation plays a fundamental role in generating quality and comfortable spaces in which high-consumption electrical appliances can be dispensed with. .

Taking these principles into account, buildings have been designed where air circulates fluidly through cross ventilation, high ceilings and large openings, which also provide ample entry of natural light.

The different volumes that make up the project are elevated with respect to the ground surface to generate the minimum impact on the land, also favoring air circulation in the lower part of the buildings, avoiding humidity on the floors and providing fresh living spaces. This measure also respects the normal transit of the animals that are part of the ecosystem of this place.
A simple construction system has been chosen with the purpose of optimizing the elements used in the work and generating minimal waste, paying special attention to the good quality of the materials to guarantee long durability of the buildings over time and therefore amortization. sustainable of these.
All finishes have been carried out using natural and sustainable materials.
The walls, floors and pools are made of chukum, a natural resin used by the Mayans that is extracted from a tree with the same name. The chukum is highly resistant to water, sun and wear, maintains a fresh environment and has a very aesthetic, natural and sophisticated appearance.
The carpentry and ceilings have been worked with local wood, promoting the local economy.
Stone is also very present in the project, coming to light in functional and decorative elements such as the sinks and the shower, as well as in the winding path that runs through the entire land connecting the different rooms.

The furniture is a combination of unique pieces designed especially for AIRE Boutique Hotel and natural elements such as roots and trunks rescued from the beach, resulting in an elegant, harmonious and highly aesthetic design.
Special attention has been paid to the treatment of light, considering lighting as just another material and thus achieving warm and welcoming spaces.

The private pools in each of the Suites are salt, this means that they are freshwater pools in which disinfection is generated through the sodium chloride present in the water. Unlike chlorine pools, salt pools are free of chemicals, therefore they do not generate any type of allergy, skin reaction or eye problems.

Organic waste, made up of food scraps and plant remains, is treated through a compost system to once the cycle is finished, fertilize the plants naturally and provide them with beneficial nutrients, significantly helping their healthy growth.
